These gigantic famous figure sand sculptures were made by artist Nicola Wood. Among these impressive sand sculptures is a large Queen Elizabeth statue, a Shakespeare sculpture and a fairly humorous sculpture of two extremely plump females laughing together beside two male heads, half buried in the sand.
This incredible sand sculptor fell in love with this kind of art while volunteering in Australia years ago, and now there's almost nothing she can't create. Wood's Shakespeare sculpture is extremely detailed, especially in regards to his ruffled clothing. The Queen sculpture is also very detailed, including even the smallest laugh lines and forehead wrinkles.
Many of us built castles on the beach when we were little but it's hard to imagine building anything like this with sand.
