These skateboards, manufactured by New York-based skate company Salt Surf, use 100% walnut top and bottom veneers. Sandwiched in between these two veneers are several layers of maple wood. This creates an extremely classy and stylish yet rugged and durable hardwood skateboard on which to cruise the streets.
Despite the presence of multiple layers, the skateboard is extremely sturdy because of the hard wood properties of the walnut. The top deck is complete with clear grip tape that is virtually invisible and doesn't interfere with the beautiful wood grains. The skateboard's tail has a bit of a kick for added control and is reminiscent of old-school skateboards. The deck itself is 22 inches long.
The Salt Surf skateboards are made in California and are available as complete skateboards or as decks only. They come in three colors -- pigeon grey, mustard and mint -- and cost $220 each.
