The Saddle Stool is expressed by fairly simple composition and coloring, yet it is a great deal more exciting than your archetypal backless seat. Inspired by a cowboy's saddle on the back of a horse, this playful perch appears to float as if an animal had scurried away from underneath it.
Studio 06 of Italy took a thin sheet of metal in a round shape and gently bent it so that it forms a smooth and symmetrical curve down both sides. This was slumped over a very fine frame in tubular steel that flares for added stability towards the base. The legs of the piece have been finished in a soft white so that they seem to disappear in a pale-painted room. Contrastingly, the Saddle Stool tops are rendered in vivid yellow and red to pop amidst their surroundings.
