Roku, a leading smart TV platform, has announced the launch of a complete line of Roku Smart Home devices, which will be offered at Walmart stores beginning October 17.
Instead of creating its own assortment of smart-home products, Roku is collaborating with Wyze Labs, a business that already manufactures everything and offers it for comparable pricing. The new line will include wired and wireless video doorbells, interior and outdoor cameras, a floodlight camera, smart light bulbs, smart plugs, and a smart light strip. In addition, everything is made to be affordable for the average consumer.
What's more, all of the smart home devices are being designed so as to fit into Roku's broader "software stack." For example, in theory, users will eventually be able to display video from the new Roku cameras and doorbells on the big screen while watching a TV show or a movie, controlling everything from either their phone or designated Roku remote.
