'Henning Larsen Architects' is about to give a Danish hospital a contemporary makeover with a series of ring-shaped extensions. Although hospitals are rarely considered architectural marvels, this institution will soon feature a modern design that is both visually appealing and therapeutic.
The ring-shaped extensions are part of a plan to upgrade the Herlev Hospital near Copenhagen. The new design will consist of three circular buildings with varying diameters. These buildings will respectively serve as the hospital's emergency, pediatric and maternity departments.
