As the Zombie Boy craze propagates in the media and in popular culture it is interesting to observe how photographers always find a new creative way to present an unchangeable Rick Genest and his tattooed body-art.
Schön! Magazine does it by erasing (in parts) the said tattoos. Thanks to photographer Matthew Lyn, makeup artist Dylan K Hanson and stylist Kay Korsh, we get a glimpse of what is under the intricate body-art. The photo series show Rick Genest’s lips, chin and face without ink and with a lot of makeup foundation. You can even see Zombie boy in an unusually peaceful position -- asleep in an almost fetal position. So there might be a peaceful Rick underneath it all.
Rick Genest clearly inspire the fashion industry, along with photographers, to use his aesthetics in contrasting situations. Hopefully we will see even more innovative and revealing "Zombie point of views" develop in the future.
