Californian-based startup RepairSmith has just secured $42 million in funding for the development and expansion of its mobile auto repair service, which works by sending certified mechanics directly to customer's homes.
Launched in 2019, the startup had already experienced significant growth, offering its service in seven states throughout the United States. Now, with this new influx of cash, the company plans to grow its operations to encompass every major metropolitan area in the country by the end of 2022.
The company aims to make the auto repair service simple and convenient for customers. All they have to do is book an appointment online and a mechanic will perform an inspection or repair right from their driveway. Moreover, depending on the state, mechanics can arrive in as little as one or two days' time. “We’re trying to disrupt probably the biggest retail industry that’s untouched by tech,” said Joel Milne, CEO of RepairSmith.
