A new age of living seems easily in our grasp now that Costa Rica has managed to switch to a new framework that allows the country to run 100% on renewable electricity. Although a small mass of land and population in comparison to the United States and Europe, it's clear that this renewable electricity system will set precedents for other governments to follow.
Although a plan was put in place for Costa Rica to swear off fossil fuels, some luck ws also involved. For instance, Fast Co Exists reports that "thanks to recent heavy rains, hydroplants have been able to supply more power than usual." This is not the only source of renewable electricity, however. With tons of sunshine, Costa Rica also capitalizes on solar power.
