All aboard! Despite its minuscule size, this tiny robot amazingly has the ability to invade the ships of pirates.
Designers at ReconRobotics were faced with a lofty challenge when the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific approached them with the desire for a boat-boarding robot. They wanted the bot to be tiny, light and, most importantly, discreet. The resulting Recon Scout Throwbot bot is certainly that, weighing in at one pound and possessing magnetized wheels, allowing it to roll up the hull of a steel ship. Naval officials have hopes that this mini menace will be able to capture video footage of Somalian pirates and send it to nearby boats.
The Recon Scout Throwbot will have pesky pirates walking the plank in no time, ARGH!
