Raw-Edges Design Studio Cuts Kitchen Clutter with its Knife-Block
Michael Hines — August 9, 2011 — Art & Design
Raw-Edges Design Studio has successfully found a way to combine a knife-block and a breadbox. The aptly named 'Breadbox' is wall-mounted and opens only when the knife is inserted into the block.
Designers Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay of Raw-Edges have creatively combined several kitchen essentials into one ingenious design. Besides being used as a knife-block and breadbox, this design could also double as a cutting board and shelf. The 'Breadbox' would significantly cut down on kitchen clutter as there would no longer be a need for a separate cutting board, knife-block and breadbox if it were mounted in the kitchen. Raw-Edges doesn't seem to have any plans to mass-produce this design, but here's hoping they change their minds. You can check out the 'Breadbox' from Raw-Edges Design Studios here.
