The Rasmussen College Chart Provides Online Safety Tips

— July 22, 2012 — Art & Design
Online crimes have become a growing concern, as depicted in these statistics by the Rasmussen College study. A whopping 44% of crimes take place in the online sphere. Victims that are most vulnerable to this type of attack are between the ages of 18-31, which is no surprise considering that this age group spends ample amounts of time online. It also appears that men are more likely to be victimized than females.

Those who engage in risky cyber activity such as viewing adult content, using non-secured networks, and who lie about their personal details are at high risk of being attacked. Fifty-four percent of computer crimes are caused by viruses and malware, while other forms such as online scams and phishing are also possibilities.

There are preventative measures that can be taken in order to protect your online activities, as explained in this chart by the Rasmussen College.
