The R2-D2 wooden iPhone dock is easily one of the most geeky examples of woodworking. This awesome iDevice accessory was created by Etsy merchant Valliswood. The man behind Valliswood is named Mario; he creates all of his pieces by hand, using material sourced from the sustainable woodlands of Vallis Aurea in Croatia.
The R2-D2 wooden iPhone dock is easy to use. Simply plug it in (cable not included) and slide the droid’s head off to reveal the connector. The dock is compatible with just about every iPhone and iPod ever made, but it is incompatible with the newest Nano. It sells for $210, which is probably more than the amount Luke paid for both R2 and C-3PO. Still you can’t put a price on craftsmanship or originality, especially when geekiness is involved.
