The designers of R Seaside Urban Seating did not wish to challenge the great experiential impact of the ocean in their development of outdoor furniture. Instead of settling with the usual wooden slats and metal frames for a bench, the creatives came up with a lovely concept that drew from several familiar forms found near the coast.
When you view it side-on, the bench seems to resemble the silhouette of a soaring bird with its graceful wings curved out in extension. Tracing with your eyes, the path of a serpentine series of the organic modular masses, another form becomes apparent. The soft undulations of the curving stone-cast segments mimic the lip of the waves rolling onto the beach. R Seaside Urban Seating by Zoran Sunjic and Modulor visually complements the foamy edge of the water as a celebration of nature.
