Henkai Architekti Designed the Pustevny Gateway Center

Local design studio Henkai Architekti designed the Pustevny Gateway, which is a wooden visitor center that is complete with a matching bell tower. It is located in the Czech Republic's Beskydy Mountains ridge with the goal of replacing an existing service building. The new structure also offers a viewpoint for visitors to enjoy as it is built on micro-piles and finished with a green roof.
The co-founder of Henkai Architekti, Daniel Baros explains the design concept to Dezeen, "Our desire was to sensitively complement an architecturally significant place within its local context. Therefore, we drew inspiration primarily from the valued buildings already standing here. I have in mind especially the hermitages by architect Dušan Jurkovič from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and the high-quality upper cable car station by Kamil Mrva."
