This Psychedelic Light Show is Made Using Textile Punch Cards

German artists from Lab Binar created a schizophrenia-inspired light display of textile punch cards. The entire show takes place in an abandoned textile factory in Auburg Germany, which is filled with old and unused fabrics.
The light display focuses on various light patterns that flash and dance across the otherwise black factory. The use of differently patterned textile punch cards and sporadic light flickering creates a psychedelic show.
The show is broken up into two sections. The first section reveals footage of the original weaving machines and staccato equipment. The second portion features lights that move in sync with a musical soundtrack. This portion of the show resembles a live-sized kaleidoscope effect. Each beat and musical change is mirrored in the changes of the illuminated textiles. This unique use of an abandoned space presents an entirely different view of the textile factory.
