Kidas launched a new software product titled 'ProtectMe.' ProtectMe is an artificial intelligence-powered computer monitoring software that not only alerts parents to potential undesirably online activity by their children, but also actively protects their children from online threats. The service achieves this by listening in and monitoring the user's activity while identifying online threats, such as harmful messages or even concerning behaviors. It is important to note that the software does not simply read text on the screen, but also listens to incoming audio channels, providing real-time monitoring of voice chat services as well.
The ProtectMe software is unique as it attempts to identify context while analyzing threats rather than simply identifying keywords. This helps the AI distinguish between playful interactions between children and more serious safety issues. This means, while a child could be playing an online game and bantering with friends, ProtectMe will not flag these interactions as dangerous and harmful.
