The KLM House by Project DWG embodies minimalist design ideals. After being almost completely demolished by a fireworks warehouse explosion in 2000, the inner-city neighbourhood of Roombeek in Enschede is on the verge of being rebuilt.
The neighbourhood has since become an architectural playground for designers who have been given the opportunity to build a range of imaginative projects on the site. Complementing its surrounding neighbourhood or modern homes, this black box design is the latest residential home by Project DWG.
The studio's KLM house is located on a corner lot and features a black prism that is supported by a frame of concrete posts. This allows the home to feature large windows without compromising the privacy of its inhabitants.
