Project Basecamp from Nissan is Designed for Adventures in Overlanding
Michael Hines — May 17, 2017 — Autos
Project Basecamp from Nissan is a new concept car designed to show off the overlanding capabilities of the automaker's flagship Titan pickup truck. Project Basecamp has been modified with 60 aftermarket parts and accessories to make it the ultimate backcountry vehicle and campsite. Modifications include new 17-inch alloy wheels, a 3-inch lift, a redesigned suspension system complete with air springs and an air compressor, a custom hood and a new set of lights. Those accessories make the Titan better able to tackle the rough terrain that is standard in overlanding.
Of course Project Basecamp from Nissan also has modifications that turn the truck into something resembling a pop-up trailer. There's a portable fridge-freezer, a tent that mounts above the bed and a small awning for relaxed afternoon hangout sessions. Project Basecamp from Nissan is a concept car designed to show off the Titan's capabilities as an overland vehicle, and as such it will not see production.
