The Press Lamp looks like it has been pinched together on the top half of its glass tube shade. A subtle touch to say the least, it gives the Press Lamp a quirky appeal that still manages to complement the design's minimalist and modern appeal. Perfect for the contemporary living space, this light fixture would fit nicely in traditional homes as well.
Designed by Japanese design studio NENDO for lighting manufacturer Lasvit, the Press Lamp is available in two versions: in a pendent form and a floor one. The pinch has been strategically placed so as to wedge the light bulb into the narrowed space. According to the designer, "The lack of metal and the soft form created naturally as the glass is compressed are the unique points of the lamp."
