Those familiar with IBM's Watson supercomputer may not find themselves exceptionally awed by the capabilities of Powered by Ross. That isn't to say, however, that they aren't impressive. Powered by Ross is a special program that builds off of Watson's celebrity status as a trivia machine. It provides a new law research service that will aid in legal cases.
Created by Andrew Arruda, Shuai Wang, Pargles Dall’Oglio, Jimoh Ovbiagele and Akash Venat, current students at the University of Toronto, Powered by Ross is able to sift through thousands of legal documents, statutes and cases to provide an answer to a specific question.
