Postmates FoodFight! Helps Those in Need and Reduces Waste
Michael Hemsworth — December 27, 2019 — Business
The Postmates FoodFight! initiative has been developed in partnership with Working Not Working and Vice as a movement that aims to combat against homeless hunger.
Presently in the pilot phase, the project has restaurants donating food that would otherwise go to waste in order to get it delivered to those who are need of a meal. This does double duty by helping those in the Los Angeles area get a meal, while also helping to keep a large amount of edible food from being wasted for a sustainable touch.
The Postmates FoodFight! initiative was spoken on by Working Not Working's Head of Growth & FoodFight! Ambassador Emily Slade who said, "If we can eliminate the friction in the donation process by making it as easy as calling Postmates to make the food donation delivery, then we can really make an impact.”
