New York-based studio GRT Architects has launched a new table collection dubbed 'Poole Tables.' As the name suggests, the collection arrives as a tribute to Thomas Henry Poole, a renowned architect responsible for designing many of the city's most iconic churches and schools.
The collection consists of a range of contemporary tables made using plywood and laminate. This specific combination of materials evokes mid-century modern furniture designs, while the colors and details maintain the tables' cutting-edge aesthetic. The tabletops arrive in either green, yellow, or red, while their undersides and legs feature exposed plywood.
“The interior renovation is entirely contemporary, doing away with all but the neo-Gothic front facade. However, the Poole Dining Table was designed specifically for the dining room proportions, and the choice of hexagonal legs was influenced by the facade’s ornamental motifs," said Tal Schori, Founding Partner of GRT Architects.
