Kairi Eguchi designed a beautiful lamp fixture dubbed the POND Lamp and it is made with inspiration from medical equipment. It is a desk lamp that is soothing and the overall structure nods to the pus tray which is a common tool used in hospitals. It is usually made from stainless steel or even plastic at times.
The shape is inspired by a kidney and it is meant to collect pus, holding items that are drawn from the body or bloody cotton, tools, and more during surgery. The POND battles the assumption that it is negative by transforming the case to a white-coated finish at the base which offers support for the cylindrical lighting in the middle.
