Polka dots of all sizes have been creeping up in the ready-to-wear collections of a number of top designers. These designs are an interesting take on the geometric forms that dominated the NYC runways this past week.
At first glance, it is Michael Kors that does polka dot dresses best. Michael Kors has certainly always been forerunners in creating simple, upscale styles that we would all wear on our fantasy yacht. Moving away from Fifth Avenue, however, Calvin Klein and DKNY are using polka dots to create a different sort of eye-catching effect.
These playful dots are the perfect embellishment to a simple garment. Not only are they slimming, but polka dots are ideal for the warm weather we are all anticipating, as they quash the urge to over-accessorize.
