I am really hankering for an 8-bit version of 'Angry Birds' after checking out Reniel Guiao's Pixel Angry Birds. Guiao has given the uber-popular birds and pigs of the game a low-res makeover that is worth checking out, even if you aren't addicted to the game.
Pixel Angry Birds is charmingly simple, and it makes you really wonder what the game would look like if it had been designed for the NES or even the Atari 2600. Guiao's work is made all the more awesome by the fact that he is only 18 years old and describes himself as an amateur graphic artist. Amateur or not, he has created something that's worth a look. I give it two months before a retro special edition of 'Angry Birds' is released.
