Light bulbs just got flatter with the Phillips SlimStyle light bulbs. These flat light bulbs being introduced are said to be more energy-saving, longer lasting and have the same brightness as a traditional 60W bulb.
The Phillips SlimStyle light bulb is estimated to last about 22 years, if used on average 2.7 hours a day. The Phillips SlimStyle light bulbs will be available for purchase later this month in the United States.
These light bulbs are powered by LEDs. The LEDs in the light bulbs are made out of plastic to decrease the likelihood of shattering.
Phillips believes LED bulbs will make up 80% of all bulbs sold by 2020. This is interesting to businesses and entrepreneurs because it could change the way people spend money on lighting and energy. Most people try to purchase energy efficient household products that are affordable, especially lighting.
