I find myself completely absorbed with Andrew Ek’s oil paintings. They are nothing short of beautiful and strange masterpieces.
The American artist Andrew Ek is self taught and began drawing early on. Mainly animals like dinosaurs took his interest, but after his father died, a peculiar darkness crept into his artwork.
Today his stunning oil paintings have had much critical acclaim and he has many solo exhibitions under his belt. I love these images of beautiful looking women with dogs lying at their feet, set against a strange background. Although real (as in realistic to modern life), they seem to evoke an unsettling emotion as if you are being pulled into a horror movie universe where darkness looms just around the corner.
