Emeline Ong designs the Pastille collection by fusing traditional craft processes with technological applications to create a brutalist angle to an otherwise adorable design. The pastel hues reflect the look of candy and the furniture series is made from paper pulp blended with a composite.
The mixture is poured into different molds to then dry and create unique ridges on where the plates connect. It is coated with pastel colors on top and creates organic finishes as it is applied with an uneven consistency. The collection is made up of the Bubblegum pink table, the Lilac table, and the low blue milk table. All of the products rest low to the ground in an accessible form.
