1Password's Passkey Support Officially Rolls Out Today
1Password recently announced its passkey feature and it is rolling out to users today. The feature is the solution that is designed to make passwords obsolete by using its biometric sensors to authenticate users instead. This is based on fingerprint or facial recognition, which is similar to how it is applied to unlocking smartphones.
Noted in a press release, the company explains that users will be able to add passkey logins through the password manager. When creating a passkey for an account, it will be recognized and added to the 1Password account. When logging in another time, the platform will be able to automatically log in if a fingerprint of facial recognition is available. It will also support beta extensions as well.
