Classic Parquet Design Makes a Modern Revival with Edition 02 Tables
Jana Pijak — September 24, 2014 — Art & Design
When one thinks of traditional parquet design, modern furnishings are not the first thing that comes to mind. Designer Tino Valentinitsch revived this outdated material to create Edition 02, his line of geometric side table and stool accessories.
The home decor items were created using parquet from the 1850's, a material that is not often synonymous with furniture construction. The upcycled material was found in a vintage Bolognese villa and transformed into this line of fun and perception-altering furnishings.
The geometric tables are modular and multi-functional, making them perfect for the rustic home or contemporary interior. The updated furnishings are fun and sculptural, boasting a decorative and tiled pattern. This parquet design motif creates an optical illusion from different angles and adds depth to each piece.
