Seoul-based design studio Sukcholmok adds a new structure to an existing building along the rooftop of the Parconido Bakery Cafe. This is made from a set of red bricks and comes together to form a curved shape with rounded walls. The space is arranged over three floors including the aforementioned rooftop -- it is inspired by European public squares as a nod to the client's time in Italy.
Lead architect of the project Park Hyunhee speaks to Dezeen about the design, stating "The space, created through one rule, was designed to give a sense of expansion and the experience of an optical illusion image. The client who spent his youth living in Italy is a clothing businessman, opening the cafe as a business expansion to provide people with a space for peaceful rest."
