Seeing the sneaker-inspired origami creations that make up the Paperair Art Show can be likened to seeing a pair of baby shoes modelled after adults Nikes, Dr. Martens and more. Yet the word one is searching for in this case may not necessarily be adorable. Instead, the creations are more akin to cool and modern art than cute and cuddly baby outfits.
The Paperair Art Show was a project headed by Filippo Perin of Phil Toys, a paper craft designer based in Conegliano, Italy. He worked in collaboration with such fellow Italian designers as Mauro Gatti, Ale Giorgini, Francesco Poroli and Nicola Ferraresede to create 25 paper sneakers for the Paperair Art Show. It was recently held on April 7 and hopes to become a travelling show.
