UK-based sustainable fashion label Pangaia has teamed up with Twelve, a company specializing in creating materials from CO2, to launch an innovative line of eco-friendly eyewear made from captured carbon.
More specifically, the sustainable sunglasses were made using Twelve’s proprietary 'CO2Made' technology, which enables the company to take CO2 from the atmosphere and turn it into materials, fuels, and chemicals that be used in consumer goods. The innovative eyewear marks the first collaboration between these two brands, both of which have agreed to work together on more future-friendly apparel and accessory innovations.
“Our goal is not only to showcase the endless possibilities of science-based solutions but also to promote industry-wide adoption that will help scale technologies and help rid the world of fossil-fuel-based polymers and over industrialized materials," said Pangaia's Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. Amanda Parkes.
