The Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 is Small But Packs a Large Sensor
Rahul Kalvapalle — September 17, 2014 — Tech
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 is an Android-powered smartphone-camera hybrid. It was released along with two other Lumix camera devices.
The CM1 is extremely thin and portable for a camera, even if it's slightly chunky for a phone. It is fitted with a 20-megapixel one-inch MOS sensor. This sensor is similar in attributes to the ones used in premium compact cameras, but is far superior to the ones found in smartphone cameras.
The device also features a shutter release button along with a lens ring that can be used to control a variety of settings including aperture, shutter speed and focus.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 will go on sale in France and Germany later this year for around $1,150. Panasonic hasn't yet revealed when the camera will be available in North America.
