Thermaltake released two new central processing unit cooling blocks, the 'Pacific W8' and 'Pacific W9.' These blocks were designed for the next generation of CPU processors from both Intel and AMD, including the 13th-generation Raptor Lake from Intel and AMD's upcoming AM5 chipset. In addition to support for these sockets, though, the cooling block will come with attachments for most existing sockets from both manufacturers.
The largest difference between the Pacific W8 and Pacific W9 is the material used in the contact pad and top of the block. The Pacific W8 leverages copper on the top with a nickel-plated bottom, while the W9 utilizes copper on both parts of the cooler. The performance of these materials will differ based on the CPU, motherboard, and cooling solution used in each computer.
The Pacific W8 retails for $109.99 USD, while the Pacific W9 is slightly more affordable at an MSRP of $104.99 USD.
