The 'Overcast Light' is an illuminator designed by Calen Knauf that highlights a naturalistic aesthetic and unexpectedly different user interface to change up perceptions of how a lamp should look or operate.
The light starts with a cylindrical aluminum base that has been paired with a paper pulp shade on the top section that has an almost mushroomy, cloud-like design. This allows the illumination that the unit offers to spill out through the bottom section as well as thorough the shade itself to create an almost otherworldly appeal.
The 'Overcast Light' is finished with a leather pull tab on the side of the base that can be slid up or down to change the level of illumination for an unexpectedly intriguing final touch.
