The Numio Lets You Gesture In the Air To Control Connected Devices
Rahul Kalvapalle — May 14, 2015 — Tech
The Numio is a hyper-smart Internet of Things device, currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign, that is capable of managing a whole array of connected devices including thermostats, lighting, appliances, music, locks and much more. Compact, flexible and easy to use, this device can plug into more than 30 different platforms including Nest and Sonos.
In addition to pushing, turning and swiping to offer input, users can even gesture in the air above the Nuimo, making it incredibly fun to do seemingly mundane things like turning up the volume on your speakers.
The Numio was originally intended to be an alternative input device for computers, smartphones and tablets but has since rendered itself capable of integrating with many other smart devices. This is representative of how, while the idea of the Internet of Things is relatively new, audacious ideas and products are helping move the industry forward at warp speed.
