Nobula is a Swedish startup that offers a fast, affordable, and energy-efficient solution for glass 3D printing. The company was spun off from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2021 and has developed a novel technology called Direct Glass Laser Deposition (DGLD). DGLD uses a laser to melt glass filaments and deposit them layer by layer to create complex 3D structures in glass.
The technology can print glass with high resolution (10 μm to 0.5 mm) and medium size range, making it suitable for applications such as microlenses, microfluidics, fiber optics, solid state batteries, art, and jewelry. Nobula provides customized glass 3D printing service and specialty products in glass, and plans to launch its own 3D printer and filament in 2023. Nobula has been recognized as a Deep Tech Pioneer by Hello Tomorrow and has published several scientific papers on its technology. Nobula aims to disrupt the glass manufacturing industry and unlock new innovations in glass and glass printing.
