CBS Will Broadcast the Nintendo World Championships on Its Network

CBS has stated that it will air the upcoming Nintendo World Championships. The Nintendo World Championships event consists of three different esports tournaments, in which tournament members play Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Both the tournament and broadcast begins on August 25th. However, CBS will also broadcast content form the tournaments on September 7th and September 14th.
CBS collaborated with ELEAGUE in order to be able to broadcast the tournament. The two organizations have also paired up to broadcast esporting events before -- with the Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament in 2018 featured.
The network's expansion into esports content will help it reach younger demographics as well as the rapidly growing esports market.
