The New Visions Collection Freezes a Moment in Time

Italian design team Alcarol have created the 'New Visions' collection, a series of furniture that is characterized by its unique use of natural materials.
Part of the Elements of Craft exhibition, which will be shown at the Mint Gallery during the London Design Festival, the collection features materials sourced from the Venetian lagoon. The materials are then suspended in resin, in order to conserve the property of that material in that moment. More than anything, the collection is a way of "freezing time at the end of the material's life cycle, thereby giving it a new life."
An example from the collection is the FishEye stools and side tables, which are fashioned out of timber poles found in the canals of Venice.
