UK-based designer Bethan Gray is known to be highly inspired by Islamic architecture, and this is certainly the case with her new furniture collection. Dubbed the Shamsian Collection, due to the fact that it is part of a collaboration with Iranian artist Mohamad Reza Shamsian, this new collection is inspired by the craftsmanship and architecture of the Middle Eastern state of Oman.
This new furniture collection includes pieces like the Dhow table, named after the traditional boats of Oman that are often used for fishing. Accordingly, this table mimics the distinct shape of dhow sails. There's also the Nizwa cabinet, which is named after a famous Omani fort and is hand-colored.
