Phillips Launched Its 'My Kawaii Valentine' NFT Auction on Valentine's Day
Niko Pajkovic — February 16, 2022 — Tech
Phillips, an international fine arts marketplace, kicked off the 'My Kawaii Valentine' NFT auction on Valentine's Day, February 14. The auction included the release of six digital-only artworks by contemporary artists including Tomio Gokita, Pomme Chan, MonoC, Maciej Kuciara, and Yoshimoto Nara.
The unique ensemble of visually striking NFTs explores themes of love and companionship while breaking new ground in the digital art space. For example, MonoC’s 'Drowning in Love' is the world's first NFT to be created using real-time auction data. In other words, it is the first NFT to algorithmically incorporate other users' buyer data into the artwork's final visual representation.
Meanwhile, 'Her Body is Metal' by designer Maciej Kuciara belongs to a larger anime short film called 'Showtime Universe," which centers around a retro cyberpunk dystopia.
