MoMA Art Lab is an interactive app for the iPad that allows users to create art work, learn about famous artists and hone in on and improve their drawing skills either independently or in a group setting.
It was designed for younger children to be used alongside their parents for a family-friendly source of entertainment. The interface was created to mimic real tools that would be used by professional artists and children can use scissors and pen tools on the screen to play with lines, shapes, colors and sound to create a multitude of mix-media collaborations.
The app also provides guidance on how to improve one’s skill as well as giving lessons about the style and skill set of famous artists to use as inspiration.
