There is something very romantic about light by fire and the modern oil lamp captures this sentiment without sacrificing contemporary aesthetic. It takes on a more sleek silhouette that does away with the typical bulbous glass and equally stout and rotund base. By stripping away all unnecessary adornment, the modern oil lamp has a long, cylindrical shape that allows people to enjoy the flame itself more than anything else.
Designed by Castor Design, the modern oil lamp is finished with a black chrome exterior that lends it a bit of an edge as well. It was created in collaboration with Harnisch Lamps, which happens to be the oldest gas lamp manufacturer in Canada. A lighting that would stand the test of time, the modern oil lamp can be more eco-friendly than electric versions.
