German artist Bettina Güber utilizes office supplies to create miniature scenes of toy figurines idling around at work.
In her series ‘Office Life,’ Güber creates a fictitious world for these toys, and showcases an entertaining portrayal of how people use office material for their own good, while also representing through the figurines how people feel when they want to escape the mundane office life. A few of the more memorable scenes include a newly wedded couple standing among a pile of confectionery rice (which is remains of hole-punched paper), while another depicts a man trying to sharpen his pencil with an axe, or a pair of friends sliding down the mouse.
Bettina Güber’s work portrays abstract and makes the viewer wonder what will happen in the next scene if the characters were to continue with their actions; it also makes us wonder how much time Güber spends playing at work.
