Artist Mingjue Helen Chen illustrated these adorable DC comic heroes and villains in a way you might not expect. Instead of doing fan art by trying to mimic the costumes of the characters, she decided to dress them in casual streetwear.
Heroes need down time too and how we’re able to visualize what they’d look like when they’re relaxing, hanging out, or planning attack and defense strategies. The concept of their uniforms is still present in their remixed looks but instead of tights and capes they have sweet leather jackets, sneakers, shorts, hoodies, lace shirts, leggings and more.
These creative drawings by Mingjue Helen Chen are so original and fun. You can still tell which character is which, but there’s definitely a unique element in their casual designs that makes their fashion sense seem more modern.
