ASICS Celebrates Mindful Sport Practices During Global Running Day
Footwear brand ASICS advocates for the benefits of mindful sports with the release of a running track, geared toward training both the body and the mind. The 'ASICS Blackout Track' is a custom-made 150-meter course, located in London. The initiative is launched to celebrate Global Running Day and is designed to feed into the movement of unplugged runs. With a belief that mental strength is just as important as physical fitness, the mindful sports installation is clocked in darkness and offers no technology, music and even scenery.
The track will launch an experiment on June 6th, where 10 runners will be invited to finish two sets of 5 kilometers — one with lights on and music and one in darkness. This will display the importance of mindful sports and the synchronization of mind and body.
