Apple dives into manga culture with its Midnight film made in collaboration with iconic director Takashi Miike. The live-action film is 19 minutes long and entirely Shot on an iPhone, taking place in Japan. It takes a 1986 mange series originally by Osamu Tezuka, who is coined the Godfather of Manga into consideration.
The whole project was shot on the smartphone, specifically the iPhone 15 Pro to truly highlight the capabilities of the phone and how it captures the nocturnal Tokyo scene. THe low lighting and cinematic results are a testament to the phone's advanced features. The dynamic action shots also attributed to the same notion -- the camera captures the details in challenging environments whilst stabilizing.
