A vibrant and mesmerizing artwork adorns a building, located on 601 West Hastings in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The structure was designed by B+H Architects as part of "a community revitalization initiative." The title of this work is "Walking Spectrum" and it incorporates photographic glimpses of the surrounding area—the skyline, buildings, art, foliage, and more. The artist, who was "intrigued by how historic, social and economic realities impact metropolitan environments," captured these images that later became the source material for her work. Devon Knowles manipulated the photographs, fashioning out new textures and color combinations. The mesmerizing artwork is now part of the City of Vancouver Public Art collection.
Walking Spectrum was one of the Top 100 finalists for the prestigious CODAaward. Public voting for the People's Choice Award is open from June 20th to June 30th.
