The Möbel Chair is Constructed Using Recycled Industrial Felt Materials
References: stytianyi & design-milk
The Möbel chair is designed by Tianyi Shi and Max Hampton-Fischer, with a structure that moves along with the person sitting in it. Its form allows itself to fold up to be simply transported from one place to another. To make matters even easier, the furniture piece is extremely lightweight, weighing at only 19.8 lbs. It is constructed from recycled industrial felt materials -- it forms together to create a honeycomb design pattern when it expands.
The felt layers up to give the furniture structure strength and durability to seat up to two people at once while keeping its weight down. In order to keep everything in its place, there are metal snaps to keep the form as a seat when needed; the design can also be unsnapped, flattened out and made transportable.
